A wine glass made to resonate by running a wet finger around the rim of the glass. This recording has slight clicks as the camera uses the automatic gain control. I would not recommend this for serious recording. Recorded on a canon d550 camera.

Water poured into a glass. A selection of 4 microphones and 3 different pour rates but labelling has been lost! microphones were: beyer mce86, samson c03 on super-cardioid, behringer c2, akg c1000 on hyper-cardioid. All the same placement (selected for splash, glass ring and bubbles); behringer ub802 mixer and zoom h1 recorder.

A bell like ding, made with sherry glass half full and tapped sharply with knife. Edited on audacity with fade out. Suitable for correct answer in game.

Sounds of a wine glass being hit with a steel spoon and wooden stick, single hits and repetitive fast hits for imitating a bell of sorts. Going into nice overtones in the second part. Caution: may get noisy and ear-piercing ;). I recorded this for my own sound design purposes (game sfx) and thought i would share it with anyone who may find it useful - if you do, please help yourself and enjoy!.

Bell sound created by tapping a metal fork against a wine glass. Recorded on samsung galaxy s3 using recforge. Processed in audacity to remove noise and make it sound a little more like a bell.

Running finger along the rim of a wineglass, producing a c#. Starts with a slow build, and ends abruptly when the glass is silenced by grabbing it. Recorded with zoom h4n, built-in mics.

Plucking the rim of an empty wine glass with my finger. Recorded a bunch of samples then isolated the ones i liked into this file. Left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. While all the samples were initially recorded at 16-bit 44100hz, some of the later ones compiled into this wav were accidentally saved at 8-bit and have gathered some noise as a result. All samples recorded using a blue yeti microphone. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. Attribution appreciated but not required.

Striking a silver goblet then making it sing by rolling a wooden dowel around its edge. The first part is the top of the goblet (lower pitch) and the 2nd part is the bottom base (higher pitch). Followed by various strikes and rolls. Microphone: iphone 3g.

Our good old bosch dishwasher is doing its magic. This is a more rhythmic loop. You can hear a glass or bowl squeaking/ringing in the water jet inside the device. Recorded x/y stereo with two audio technica at4041 mics into a marantz pmd 661 recorder. Normalized plus some eqing using fabfilter pro-q3.

Scenario: dog is given a treat on a tempered-glass dinner plate, which he licks clean. Plate remains on the no-nap outdoor carpet, unnoticed, because it isn't terribly important that it be picked up right away. In the meantime the wrapped-up power cord to a shop vac falls to the floor, right next to it. As i walk by i accidentally kick the electrical plug, striking the plate. Woww gotta record that. . .

Midnight recording from the streets of neukölln, berlin, on new years day 2009. In germany, this is the one day of the year when members of the general public are allowed to set off fireworks. Echoes of bombs and fusillades ring out across the city, while clouds of smoke tumble menacingly through the streets. Close by, a peaceful child sets off sparklers, and is astonished by the display. In the morning, the streets are littered with their remnants -- charred bits of paper, streaks of red ash. Recorded with an edirol r-09. From a contemporaneous news report:. "clashes in three german cities marred new year celebrations, with police facing their toughest challenge from a crowd of mostly young revellers in the capital berlin in the small hours of yesterday. One small breakaway group from that crowd, which numbered 1,000 at the peak, tried to fire a skyrocket inside a police station and invade it, police spokesman frank millert said. The rocket lodged in a broken window and burned itself out, but several police were injured by the flying glass. Police arrested three on arson charges.
